Buckland Abbey

The home of Sir Francis Drake

Buckland’s peaceful setting today belies its swashbuckling past, brought to life through exhibitions and redesigned galleries, including new introductory film, computer interactives and great statue of Drake. See Drake’s Drum, plasterwork ceilings and the fascinating kitchen. Beautiful new Elizabethan garden and family events.

Open: 12 April – 2 November daily except Thurs 10.30-5.30 (last admission 4.45). Shop, restaurant & garden also open at weekends from 22 February.
