RHS Garden Rosemoor’s two dedicated rose gardens reach a crescendo of colour and scent this month, when they form a heady backdrop to a ‘Scents of Summer’ weekend on 20 – 21 June, celebrating all that is delightful about the garden in summer.
Indulge your senses with two days full of all the glorious scents of the garden in June. There will be plenty to do for everyone, including sensuous ‘smell boxes’, where you can test your senses, walks, talks, advice and children’s trails. To really get you in the mood for summer, there will be a range of summer stalls including natural confetti and pot pourri, lavender bags, scrumptious fudge and unusual jams and preserves.
The weekend will also feature the ever-popular Rose Sunday, which celebrates one of the nation’s favourite flowers at its peak. With over 2,000 roses from 200 cultivars, Rosemoor has one of the largest collections of roses in the West Country. From modern roses through to shrubs, species and climbers, Rosemoor has proved the rumour that roses could not grow in the South West incorrect!
Diana Gilding, Events Supervisor at RHS Garden Rosemoor, says, "Scents of Summer weekend is a great opportunity to relax and enjoy the garden’s wealth of early-summer perennials – the perfect time of year to visit!"
