It will be another wonderful half-term week at Powderham Castle. From Saturday 29 May until Friday 4 June children will be able to visit a wacky 'Wonderland' of folly and fun with the Castle’s very own ‘Mad Hatter’.
Children are encouraged to come dressed up as their favourite Wonderland character to join in the sessions that take place at 11.30am, 1.00pm and 2.30pm. They will ‘step through the looking glass’ to meet the amusing ‘Mad Hatter’ (and perhaps even the Queen of Hearts) and take part in the chosen activity of the day!
Simon Fishwick, Estate Director:
‘This is the second themed event this season, following the huge success of our Easter fortnight, we are expecting many to return for Wonderland Week. It adds an extra element of excitement and fantasy to the visit, which the children love!’
There will be a prize to be won on the White Rabbit Trail around the grounds and the chance to spot little wonders on a tour around the Castle rooms. This season visitors are able to return again within 7 days to get even more value from their ticket - with so much to do you would be mad not to!
In addition to the Wonderland Week activities children will love to ride the tractor/trailer on the Deer Park Safari (small extra charge), and feed their imagination at Courtenay Fort, the popular adventure play castle.
New attractions for 2010 include Pony Rides in the riding school, Tennis in the Pleasure Garden and a Nature Corner in the old Brewhouse.
Wonderland Week sessions are included in the admission. Request your session ticket on arrival, numbers limited. Please call 01626 890243 for more details or visit www.powderham.co.uk
